Thanks for this opportunity to get closer to our Lady.
I pray for the discipline to be faithful to the daily reading/meditation. This is also perfect timing for those of us who will be participating in The Bible and the Virgin Mary bible study this Lent.
Some quotes from the Magnificat Advent Companion (December 22):
"Mary does not render God great; He is great. She does, however, allow Him to be great in her."
In her Magnificat, "Mary teaches us to rejoice in God's goodness, to receive His blessings gratefully, to proclaim His greatness, holiness, and saving strength, to testify to His regard for the lowly and the hungry, and to acknowledge His mercy and fidelity." Mary is the perfect model of how to be in relationship with God.
May she guide each one of us more and more towards her Son and draw us into her motherly embrace!

I really like your quotes, especially the first one, "Mary does not render God great; He is great. She does, however, allow Him to be great in her." I think that is what this consecration is all about. We want to allow Jesus, through our (re-)consecration, to be great in us, to be our "master", our savior and our everything just as Mary did. ... it is total submission to Jesus with and through Mary.
