Participants of this blog are participating in a five-week preparatory journey before making a total consecration to Jesus with and through Mary. For some this will be a re-consecration. We have found this to be a wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth. ... We journey together and pray for each other.

Ruth: Triple Triathalon
At Mass this morning, Father mentioned that he met a man recently who had participated in a triple Ironman triathlon (Swim 7.2 miles, Bike 336 miles, Run 78.6 miles ... yes really). Father mentioned the training that went into this and the support of this man's family and friends that made this possible. This led Father to his point which was to talk about how many more great saints there would be if we all had a greater commitment to growing in our relationship with Jesus and with supporting each other on the journey. If a man can achieve such greatness on the human side (triple Ironman triathlon) we can do the same, in varying degrees on the spiritual side. We are all called to holiness. He explained it better than I am doing (this is my take on it) but this sermon brought our 5-week commitment to mind. We need to, right now, make a commit to persevere in this spiritual Marathon for Jesus is calling each of us to "go deeper" in our spiritual walk with Him. May Our Lady, through this (re-)consecration be our guide into a deeper relationship with her son. Our training has begun (or continues)........
